Railway becomes Hitech, This machine will not only perform ticket checking automatically. But will also check the body temperature of the passengers as well as prevent passengers from entering the station wearing face masks.
Indian Railways is accelerating the use of technology day by day. The technology is being used by the railways to increase passenger amenities through online ticket booking. A sample of this was seen at Nagpur station, where the Railways has installed the first automated ticket checking machine in the country. Railway Minister Goyal Piyush Goyal has given information about this.
The ATMA machine is installed at the Nagpur station under the New and Innovative Idea and Concept for Generation of Non-Fair Revenue Idea Scheme (NINFRIS) to identify patients infected with Covid-19. According to railway officials, the machine will not only perform ticket checking automatically but will also check the passengers’ body temperature. As well as prevent passengers from entering the station wearing face masks.
One advantage of this would be that the huge staff involved in ticket checking can be reduced. And that staff can be put under the medical supervision of the passengers.
The machine will check these things
– Passenger ID Card
– body temperature
The advice of the passengers traveling by rail and the passengers as well as the passengers traveling without tickets will help in curbing this machine. This machine will still allow any passenger to enter the railway station when all the guidelines are followed. It should have the ID of the passenger. It will be necessary to wear the mask of the fellow passenger, besides the ticket will be the PNR number.
According to the Central Railway, the ATMA machine will free passengers from social disturbances by following the boarding guidelines. Also, the automated machine will help in increasing the revenue of the Central Railway region by identifying the passengers traveling on a ticket. The machine will only allow passengers who enter the station who have a ticket’s PNR number with a valid ID proof. Also, the automated ticket checking machine will have a mic system that will give all information related to the journey. To the railway passengers and make them fully aware to follow the passenger guidelines.
The railway staff will operate the machine sitting inside the cabin. The machine will open the gate for the passenger as soon as the command is received by the railway staff. Indian Railways has installed an automatic face mask and hand sanitizer machine at Patna Junction to help passengers who have forgotten to bring a hand sanitizer or mask.
